I see these words used sometimes but I’m not 100% sure what they mean.

A hit is an accent. Tun Tun Tun BWOW Tun Tun.
A break is when the beat of the song stops, then resumes. Tun Tun Tun tututututuunnnn…………… tututun Tun Tun Tun Tun.

A hit is when you get punched and a break is when you fall down and your stuff is spread all over the floor.
Meaning hits are singular things on top of other stuff (but there can be several) and breaks change the whole song for a bit.
